An established law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Secretary to support its Construction practice team. This role provides comprehensive case management, administrative, and secretarial support to a team of litigation attorneys.
This position is on-site in New York City (possible 1 day work from home) and reports to the Legal Support Services Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely e-filings across New York State, Federal, and Appellate courts.
- Format, proof, and finalize complex litigation documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, TOCs and TOAs.
- Work closely with Docketing to track, confirm, and meet all court and discovery deadlines.
- Manage conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, and maintain digital legal files.
- Coordinate calendaring, travel, and logistics for meetingsand appearances.
Experience & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of litigation secretary experience supporting multiple busy litigation attorneys; experience within construction litigation preferred but not required.
- Strong working knowledge of New York State and Federal court procedures, e-filing systems, and legal terminology.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and common legal software (e.g., iManage, Litera Compare, ChromeRiver).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with attorneys, staff, clients, and external vendors.
- Exceptional organization, grammar, spelling, and proofreading capabilities.
Compensation Range:
- Estimated Annual Salary: $90,000 - $125,000
- Actual compensation will vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
